FAQS
You Ask - I Answer
HOW WILL I KNOW IF ART IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy is an hour long session where issues are typically resolved in 1-5 sessions. Some people prefer ART if they'd rather not disclose details in typical talk therapy. Some people prefer ART if they don't want long term therapy. Some people just like to try ART in addition to talk therapy. The cost of ART sessions are the same as regular therapy sessions.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Each therapy session, including initial session, is 50 minutes. The exception is ART sessions, which are at least 60 minutes due to the structured format and nature of the sessions.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT STYLE OF THERAPY IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Sometimes clients will already know if they want a supportive therapist, a more directive therapist, an engaging therapist....etc. We can work together in our sessions to identify what is working for you and what is not and address concerns or thoughts you're having about our therapy process. The exception is ART, which is much more structured.
DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?
Yes, there are some slots available for sliding scale rates. Please let me know if you're in need of this and we can work something out if slots are available.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN IT'S TIME TO STOP THERAPY?
Sometimes clients know when it's time to end therapy when their goals have been reached, other times it's a discussion in therapy together, and other times it's whenever you feel like you're done. Whatever the situation is, we will discuss ending therapy in sessions when the time feels right and celebrate gains made in our therapy.
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS IF YOU DO NOT TAKE MY INSURANCE?
I can provide you with a superbill, which is a detailed receipt. You can use this to request reimbursement from you insurance company, however insurance companies may not give you the full reimbursement. If you ask for this option, please keep in mind that you are responsible for up-front session costs and obtaining reimbursement from your insurance company directly.
WHEN WILL YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
TBD. Unfortunately I do not have a clear estimate on when I can take insurance, but I am working on it.
